Our Story
From one proprietor's conviction in 2001 to twenty-four graduating classes today — this is the story of Firm Base Schools.
How We Began
Firm Base Schools was established in 2001 by Mr. Gbenga Kalejaiye on Fola Agoro Street, in the Somolu area of Lagos. What started as a small neighbourhood school built around one idea — that children need a genuinely firm foundation, academically and morally, before anything else can be built on top of it — has since grown into an institution the Somolu community has come to know and trust.
In July 2025, Firm Base Schools held its 24th Graduation and Prize Giving Day, at the new Somolu Local Government Complex — a milestone marking twenty-four consecutive years of preparing children for the next stage of their education and their lives.
Mission & Vision
To be a firm, dependable foundation for every child who passes through our gates — one whose graduates carry academic strength and strong character wherever life takes them.
To provide qualitative education that prepares our pupils for academic success while molding them into morally upright, responsible citizens equipped to compete favourably anywhere in the world.
Our Values
A structured, disciplined approach to academic work, from Creche through Primary 6.
Moral and social grounding that shapes responsible, respectful, well-rounded pupils.
A genuinely close school community where every child is known, and every parent is heard.
Our goal remains the same — to provide qualitative education that not only prepares our students for academic success but also molds them into morally upright and responsible citizens.
